Mark Your Calendars!

Finally, I was able to get a hold of Dr. R. I accomplished the impossible. I think I deserve a medal or something! Here we are nearly TWO months later (14 days my eye) and I have a second ultrasound scheduled for this coming Monday at 2:00 pm. Dr. R is also going to further discuss the results of the amniocentesis with us, but considering that she already told me over the phone that there is a normal 46 karyotype (meaning no triple chromosomes or anything) I'm thinking that there isn't much to tell. Like Josh said, we're basically back to square one. Hopefully the ultrasound will be able to tell us a little more, otherwise I am going to be super disappointed. I would really like to walk away Monday knowing just a little bit more, and maybe have a few of my hundred or so questions answered. As I understand, all the ultrasound will be able to tell (or show us rather) is if this little man has any deformities (facial or otherwise), and maybe a little bit more of what stage/severity of Holoprosencephaly he has. All I'm really hoping for is some answers -which bites the big one because each holoprosen baby is different from the last. There isn't any way for Dr. R to tell me what to expect. We just won't know until we get there. Yay {insert sarcastic voice here}. I love surprises... just not the ones of this nature. I prefer to be prepared.
Speaking of prepared, you all know that this little baby is a boy. What you might not know is that we've already got a name for him! He is still missing a middle name, but that will come. His name is, drumroll please....

Archer {tbd} Anderson

Yay! Isn't that the cutest?! I'm actually in LOVE with the name. Josh is the one who thought of it (shocker, I know). Archer is a really strong and active baby boy and I love being able to talk to him using his actual name instead of 'baby' every time he makes his presence known. Well, that's about it for today. Hopefully Monday we'll have a little bit more news concerning Archer's condition. Until then...

p.s. Josh and I believe in using family names as middle names for our kids, so any family if you have any good ideas please let me know in the comments section!

Hmmm... I like Morgan. His initials would be ama, like the usted form of amar, which is Spanish for "you love". You can tell I haven't over thought this...

I love Archer. I also am glad that you finally got to speak to the doctor. I will be praying that you are able to get some helpful information on Monday. We'll be thinking of you.
