Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there. I hope that your day was as great as mine! A few weeks ago, at a Relief Society activity about parenting, I was given this list of things our mothers teach us. I thought it very fitting to share with you on a day such as today. I don't know who wrote it but it is probably one of the funniest things I've ever read!
Things My Mother Taught Me:
1. To appreciate a job well done:
"If you're going to kill each other, do it outside. I just finished cleaning!"
2. Religion:
"You better pray that will come out of the carpet!"
3. Time Travel:
"If you don't straighten up, I'm going to knock you into the middle of next week!"
4. Logic:
"Because I said so, that's why!"
5. Foresight:
"Make sure you always wear clean underwear incase you're ever in an accident."
6. Weather
"This room looks as if a tornado went through it."
7. The Circle of Life:
"I brought you into this world, and I can take you out of it."
8. Medical Science:
"If you don't stop crossing your eyes they are going to get stuck like that."
9. Humor:
"When that lawn mower cuts off your toes, don't come running to me."
10. How to Become an Adult:
"If you don't eat your vegetables, you'll never grow up."
11. Genetics:
"You are just like your father."
12. Roots:
"Shut that door behind you. Do you think you were born in a barn?!"
13. Stamina:
"You will sit here at this table until all that spinach is gone."
14. Wisdom:
"When you get to be my age, you'll understand."
15. Justice:
"One day you'll have kids and I hope that they turn out just like you!"
Mom, thank you for all you've taught me! :) Truly though, I love you so much and I hope that I can be even half the mother that you are!
