Happy Birthday to Alli!

I can't believe my little girl is 3 years old! I let Alli sleep in until about 10:00 (more of a treat for me I think) and then we went to get her a doughnut for breakfast. She wanted me to put a candle on it so that she could blow it out! So, I lit the candle and sang her happy birthday all by myself! I'm just glad that she's too young to care what I sound like!

Alli's Grandma Dawn and Grandpa Don came to help us celebrate for a few days - and, boy, was Alli heartbroken when they had to leave. I believe she cried for almost 2 and a half hours after they were gone. And she didn't want a thing to do with me. Silly girl!

We had SO much fun on Alli's birthday, Tuesday. From 3-6 we had a pool/water party with all of Alli's friends and cousins. The weather wasn't very cooperative and so the party got moved inside a couple of different times because I could see lightning and hear some pretty serious thunder. But it only stayed for a little bit, so the kids were able to go back out and play. At 6:30 we started the bbq, and then Alli opened presents and after we had cake (looked like a watermelon) and ice-cream. Alli cleaned house. She got tons of fun toys, and mommy and daddy even got her a "big-girl" bike (what were we thinking... now she always wants to go ride it ;)!

That looks like a big boy bike to me. I guess Amelia will be riding the same type of bike when she gets big enough. We are too cheap to buy a boy and a girl version of everything :).

we want a picture of the cake. if you recall, SOME of alli's favorite cousins weren't there to see it...and neither was her favorite aunt...
